As a digital dinosaur, I am joining this online teaching and learning course. I set up my first Gmail and blog. During these few weeks, we are working with a scenario using FISh model. We have investigated Tik Tok, Podcasts, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blog, etc. During the weekly twice one hour sessions of sharing, I heard a lot of interesting topics. We tried to explore the different online teaching tools and compare the Pros and Cons. I need to catch up with my group of people, as they have more experience with the online teaching tools. Even felt the pressure, I still want to continue the learning journey. Hope I will get fruitful outcome after the ONL212 course.
I was unfamiliar with online tools and resources in the beginning of the ONL212 course. I had never use d tools like miroboard or Lucidchart – in fact I did no t even know about the ‘annotate’ feature in zoom, although I have used it for two years since the COVID-19 Pandemic. The important things that I have learnt through my engagement in the ONL course is leadership. We often have doubts during online learning. We investigated possible solutions on the way. We learnt from communicati ng with our group , discussi ng and investigati ng. S ome of us also felt frustrated along the way. Sometimes we may wonder which way is better than the others in deliver ing the outcomes. Facilitators and leaders introduce some interesting online tools to us. It definitely helps us to solve the problem immediately and speed up the progress. Being fully engaged in in our l...
Scared to be a digital dinosaur, I am stepping out from my comfort zone to join this ONL212 course. My experience about social media is very limited. I used Facebook, but never upload my personal photos as I prefer to enjoy some privacy. So I am only using it as a platform to message my friends who are overseas. Since COVID-19, I have gained two years of experience on organizing virtual activities via Zoom. I believe the online tools are convenient and can keep people safe without face to face gathering in the pandemic situation. Having joined this course, I have put my first Gmail account in use, and even created a blog. During these two weeks, I have been working with the FISh model. For the problem-based learning method, we have investigated some online social media tools: e.g. Tik Tok, Podcasts, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blog, etc. During the one hour sessions conducted twice a week, I got my inspiration from my group members, listening to them share about inter...
I created my first T witter account and start ed to follow a few people on ONL212. Every day, it will show me some int eresting news from the people I am following . The ONL212 community always ha s continuous questions and discussion s. During the group meetings, w e have shared the experience of how to design high - quality online courses and the pros and cons of traditional and online learning. We found some course s ’ design s are more focus ed on content and delivery rather than students ’ experience. We need to consider students ’ learning experience s . We need to know if the pace of teaching is suitable for all students. How to help students who are not motivated to learn. For example, if we have online learnin g by pre-recorded...
