Wu Ya Jun’s Reflection on ONL 212 Topic 5: Lessons learnt-future practice

I was unfamiliar   with online tools and resources in the beginning of  the  ONL212 course. I had never use d  tools like miroboard or  Lucidchart  – in fact I did  no t even know about the ‘annotate’ feature in zoom, although I have used it for two years since  the  COVID-19 Pandemic.   The important things that I have learnt through my engagement in the ONL course is leadership. We often have doubts during online learning. We investigated  possible solutions  on the way.   We learnt from communicati ng with our group , discussi ng and investigati ng. S ome of us  also  felt  frustrated  along the way.  Sometimes we may wonder which way is better than the others  in  deliver ing  the outcomes.  Facilitators and leaders introduce some interesting online tools to us. It definitely helps us to solve the problem immediately and speed up the progress. Being fully engaged in in our learning process, it is an interesting, challenging and different learning experience  on  different topics. D

We need to consider students ’   learning  experience s .  We need to know  if  the  pace of  teaching  is  suitable for all students. How to help students who are  not motivated  to learn.  For example, if we have online learnin g by pre-recorded videos, we may  value - ad d to provide students with  one -on- one  or  small group discussions  via Zoom  if students need to  discuss their personal opinion  or  dispel  their  doubts .  In reality, s

We have investigated  the power of learning in Communities and networked collaboration  learning .  I felt the ONL212 Programme is  organized  perfectly . Firstly, it randomly set s   up  several groups  from  dif ferent faculties, universities, and countries in the world.  Secondly we have to  register and  gain  s ome experience of  using  different online learning tools, understand those tools ’  pros and cons .   T hrough  the topic 1 - Online participation & digital literacies  and  topic  2 -  Open Learning – Sharing and Openness journey  to prac tice the  problem-based learning  strategies   and FISH model to investigate the problem s  in the online learning  by group members.  Spending  more than  two  month s of discussion and collaboration , w e have built trust and  sense of  belonging within the group.  Now  it is the perfect time  for Topic 3-Learning in Communities-Networked Collaborative Learning, we have discussed the difference between Communities and networked co
